One World in One Lifetime

Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi

As it is known in Thai: ท่าอากาศยานสุวรรณภูมิ/sùwannáp00m (the new airport)

Airport website

Is Suvarnabhumi the only airport for Bangkok?

No. There is an Old Airport, Don Maung. Don’t get these two confused, because they are far away from each other and there is no easy, non-expensive way to go from one airport to the other… that I know of.

Is Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok?

It’s in the greater Bangkok area, but not anywhere near downtown.

How can I get to and from the Suvarnabhumi airport?

You can take a cab, an Airport Express bus, a city bus or a public van. Not every place in Bangkok has access to the Airport Express bus, city bus to the airport, or the airport public van.

You can also take a long distance bus to the airport from other cities in Thailand.

There is a free shuttle the goes from one part of the airport to another.

Is pre-check in sleeping allowed?

How about post check-in sleeping?

Yes, though I didn’t see anything like a hotel or dayroom. There are free lounge chairs that recline into bed like things. They are on concourse B and D.

Can I take a shower there?

How is the food?

The food is normal. There are lots of restaurants to choose from.

Is there free wireless internet or any pay internet computers?

There is wireless internet, but it is not free in most areas in the airport.

There is free wi-fi inconveniently located next to passport control and will only last for 15 minutes.

There are also free internet computers, if you can find them.

Are there lockers or at least a left luggage place?

Can I rent a cell phone at the airport?

Are there any post offices at the airport?

What is the phone number or website for lost and found?

0-2132-1880 , 0-21321890

Is there anything special about this airport?

not really
